Today, our P6/7 class began their Irish News Young News Readers Media project. The project is in partnership with St Mary’s University College, Belfast. The Irish News Young News Readers Media Project provides a weekly School Edition newspaper accompanied by an educational resource booklet to aid the development of literacy skills and critical thinking at Key Stage 2. The children received their first newspaper this morning and were so excited to get reading. In groups they answered some questions to generate discussion surrounding the use of newspapers in their own lives. They are so excited to get started on their project that will take place over the next 6 weeks!📰🕵️♂️🕵️♀️
