World Mental Health Week
This week is World Mental Health Week and Matthew from the EA REACH Programme focussed on the theme COMMUNITY. The children talked about how they were feeling, how they look after their physical health, what they think mental health is and how they look after it - meditating, eating healthy food, staying active, reading, resting, chilling out, recharging our brains like we would an electric car.
Using wool the children created a magic web talking about the different communities they belonged to. Matthew told them that building strong community links helps support us and by accepting people into your community groups you are supporting their mental health. Playing the group numbers game gave the children a sense of what it feels like to be left out.
Matthew gave the children an anxiety buddy leaflet and a stress ball.
